THE SAFE HOLI CAMPAIGN
The members of Interact club Deepalaya School, Kalkaji Extension took out a rally in Transit Camp, Govindpuri and Navjeevan Camp on 17-3-2011. The students of Class VIII & IX enthusiastically conveyed the message of “Khelo Holi Naturally”, through these slogans;
Ø ‘Agar Karte ho Holi se pyar, Rakho tum paryawaran ka khyal, Rasaynik rangon ka karo tyag’
Ø ‘Play with herbal colours and keep the environment healthy’.
The students also told the residents of the colony to play Eco friendly Holi with Eco friendly colours by giving a best and suitable slogan:
Ø ‘Holi ka ye rasaynik rang hai dooshit, humare paryawaran ko karta hai pardooshit’.
Our students had prepared colours with the help of flowers, sandal powder, heena , gram flower & turmeric and sold it in the community. Some people were not aware about the Eco friendly colours. Our students put natural colours on some of the people. They felt the difference and accepted that the natural colours are better from the chemical colours.
Although the colours were dull but they were good for skin as well as for environment. As we went ahead children were all the more enthusiastic. Some people were cheerful and approached us to enquire about this. At least few people were made aware of the bad effects of the playing of the chemical colours. The rally was remarkable indeed.
