ANNUAL DAY FUNCTION
The Annual DAy of Deepalaya School Kalkaji Extension was held on 2nd December 2011 in the school auditorium with great fanfare and aplomb. The Chief Guest was Mr. Dushyant Kumar DGM GAIL along with him Mr. A.J. Philip President Deepalaya, Mr.T.M. Abraham Founder Member Deepalaya, Mr.Kochar from ASED, Mr.Tuteja and Ms. Netty Claris from Shanty Foundation Netherlands graced the occasion. The day started with the Sarawati Vandana followed by Lighting of the Lamp, Welcome Song, Dance of LKG and UKG students, English and Hindi Skit, Choir, Dances like Ganesh Vandana, Mahi Shashur Vadh and Qawwali was shown. The theme was 'Incredible India'. It was indeed a colourful programme depicting India at its best. Our very own Mr.Chackochan Sir and Ms.Anita Sawhney the Prinicipal inspired the children with their presence.
Speaking about the greatness of India, the Chief Guest Mr.Dudhyant Kumar said, “This cultural display of talent portrays the greatness of our Indian culture. The students did an excellent job of showcasing the richness of our culture.”
The dazzle of the dances, the melodious Sangeet and the Hindi and English skit, all showcased by the students wowed the audience. Directed by teachers and styled by students the theme, Incredible India was a melange of music and dance. Energy fused dance, song, skit etc were laced with such creative zing that parents were left gasping for a ‘once more'. The Annual day was a social and cultural combination of talent and creativity.
The celebration also saw the students receiving the Awards for Academic Excellence- Indira & Jai Foundation Award, Rear Admiral R.C.Bhalla Memorial Awards among others.
The Annual Day celebration ended with the singing of the National Anthem. The parents of the students who were present in the auditorium were indeed beaming with pride for their children were part of this institution.
