Clean Delhi-NCR Drive

As it is truly said,

‘A healthy body is the guest-chamber of the soul; a sick, its prison.’

Keeping this as their vision,  the members of the Interact Club, Deepalaya School, Kalkaj Extension, enthusiastically participated in the clean Delhi-NCR drive on the 9th of September, 2010. This was undertaken as a part of the Clean Delhi-NCR drive’ conducted by ‘the art of living organization from 6th to 12th September, 2010.

To bring about a change in the society and environment, it is always better to start from ourselves. Deepalaya School has given the young ones the opportunity to spread the message of ‘Being Healthy’ through their own unique ways 15 students from classes VIII, IX and X took out a rally into the Rajiv Gandhi Colony on 9th September. The students conveyed their message to the residents of the colony through the slogans;

 

‘Kooda Dalo Koodedan Mein,  Naa Ki Gali Maidan Mein’

And

Meri Dilli, Swachha Dilli, Harit Dilli’.                      

As we know that ‘Cleanliness is next to godliness and is also considered as a fine life-preserver. The students also cleaned various areas and broomed the litter. The pamphlets for the Clean Delhi-NCR drive were also distributed to the residents to make them aware of the drive. Through this rally, the members of the Interact Club aimed at cleaner surroundings and were aware citizens because ‘a great city is a great solitude’.
