ANNUAL DAY FUNCTION
The Annual Day of Deepalaya School Kalkaji Extension was held on 23rd November 2012 in the school auditorium with great fanfare and aplomb. The theme was 'Celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema through Dance & Music'. It started with Saraswati Vandana followed by lighting of the lamp. The Chief Guest Ms.Reva Nayyar along with Mr.T.K.Mathew, Principal Ma'am Ms.Anita Sawhney, head girl, head boy, parent representative, all lit the lamp and graced the occasion. Since it was the celebration of 100 years of Indian cinema right from the beginning songs with dances of the era 1940 to recent years were showcased by the children. Deepalaya choral group performed to show the influence of western music on Indian Cinema. Principal Madam presented Annual Report & vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Sudha Parthasarathy.
The celebration also saw 74 students receiving the Awards for Academic Excellence, Latent Talent, Full attendance and one award for best Parent.
The Annual Day celebration ended with the singing of the National Anthem. The parents of the students who were present in the auditorium were indeed beaming with pride for their children were part of this institution.
